Members of this Committee have undertaken research of the Club records. Combined with the Richmond Valley Council, funds have been made available towards the Centenary celebrations by both men and ladies sections of the Casino Golf Club. The Committee has enjoyed preparing this historical record and hope you will appreciate reading it. We were lucky to get a game in before the showers coming down the coast from Cyclone Debbie. It was damp throughout the complete course and there was some water in a couple of bunkers due to drainage problems. There will be concentrated efforts to repair these problems during the 2018 year. The weather and the course were actually quite appropriate for the amount of rain we have had over the past scanty weeks. There were 24 ladies reach out to play golf on Wednesday 223 the Casino Outdoor and Army Disposal sponsored day, and it was great to have Joy Urquhart (one of the owners) attend to give the trophies. The Conditions were not all that great, but the rain stayed away while we played. Today was moving day for the men in the 3rd Round of the Ongmac Sponsored Club Championships, and it is clear the players are moving toward the conclude line. 125 starters played in the beginning round of the Casino Golf Club championships in hot and humid conditions and the final 2 groups finished in heavy rain. There were 93 Players in the field today to play for the Tony’s Workshop trophies. The numbers were down this day unfortunately. It was huge to have Julie Llewellyn a representative of the company come and play with the ladies and assist donate the vouchers for the day. Julie (also one of our weekend golfers) gave some information on the Richmond Dairies business. Richmond Dairies not only supplies their waste water to our dams for our fairways, they also give a lot back to the community of Casino, and they are perpetual affected by the problems that affect our dairy farmers. Casino Golf Club Medley Stableford Sponsored by North Coast Mini Mart With the spasmodic drop of rain we have had over the past few evenings the course is really looking good, fairways are green, and the greens were a trivial extreme today. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the course is playing brief with the deficit of rain and we had 128 starters to play for the Casino Outdoor Disposals 2 Person Ambrose Trophies. Craig Ecstasy Urquhart come out every year to donate the wonderful trophies they provide. Shane put a immense shot into the 12th hole almost scoring a hole in one, but he had to settle for the 87 Ball Turkeys Nest instead leaving his ball only 12 cams from the hole. Everybody gets to tee off, and the superior piece is when you get to hit your partners ball for the following shot, especially when they have had a great shot, and yours is not so great. But the day was tranquil a huge day if you stayed in the shade between shots (there was a trivial breeze). Helen Olive’s team lost the Pink Lady balls on the 1st hole they played, and they had no qualms about who was to denounce when she hit it out-of-bounds. The weather was chilly and the course was good according to our visitors, and the scores proved this was true.
